Parish Choir The Parish Choir and Instrumental Group exists to lead the music at the 10.30 Mass on Sunday mornings and other important liturgies such as those at Christmas and Easter. In some pieces the choir is accompanied by the organ alone; in others by the piano and other instruments. Instrumental Masses are usually on the second Sunday of the month. Practices are held in the church every Thursday evening at 7.30, usually finishing by 9.00 at the latest. New members, both players and singers, are always welcome. An ability to read music is not essential. If you are interested in getting involved, either singing or playing an instrument, please speak to the choirmaster, David Spencer, after 10.30 Mass, or contact the Parish Office (details below) and we will put you in touch with him. International Choir This group is largely made up from the parish's African Community. However, all members of the parish are welcome. They usually sing at 10.30 Mass on the last Sunday of each month, and also contribute to masses on special occasions. The group also serves as a social network for the African Community of the parish. Their practices are on alternate Fridays, 7-8pm in winter and 7.30-8.30pm in summer. Contact: Mohamed Kamanda - speak to him after 10.30 Mass or contact the Parish Office (details below) and we will put you in touch with him. |
