The 6th Southampton South Guide Company meets in the Church Hall Weekly in term-time, and accepts girls aged 10-15 in the Guides, girls aged 7-10 in the Brownies and girls aged 5-7 in the Rainbows. Guides work together in teams called Patrols, and learn about skills for living - the environment, the outdoor, thinking for themselves and exploring the arts. They work towards a series of goals or 'Trefoils' which are rewarded by a different coloured trefoil badge. There are also opportunities for camping and weekend activities with other Guide companies throughout the year. Brownies are grouped in teams called Sixes. They also learn a wide variety of skills and are awarded badges for their achievements. They usually have a pack holiday in the summer and also take part in activity events like the Guides. Rainbows are a less formal group, aimed mainly at enjoyment in the context of learning activities which are the first steps in Guiding. All three groups depend for their continued existence upon committed adult help. Extra willing hands, including those of older teenagers, are always welcome. All groups meet on Thursday evenings in the Hall, as follows.
If you would like further information, please contact the Parish Office (details below) and we will put you in touch with the appropriate organiser.
