The Luncheon Club was instigated in 1973 by Fr Pat Murphy O'Connor, in conjunction with Social Services and a group of volunteers. The aim of the club was to provide a weekly venue and a hot meal for the housebound, lonely and senior citizens, who very soon made many friendships, and looked forward to their weekly outing.
Unfortunately, owing to lack of support and volunteers to help, the Luncheon Club had to close in Autumn 2005
